@gowthamvijay I'm Gowtham Vijay, a photographer from Tamil Nadu, India. Born in one of the smallest villages you can imagine, the kind that doesn't even have a bus stop. In 2018, I accidentally stepped into the world of wedding photography. What started as a simple curiosity soon became my life's passion. I'm drawn to the quiet glances, raw emotions, and in-between moments that tell the wedding's real story. My work focuses on capturing these timeless memories with a cinematic, soulful approach, turning fleeting moments into something unforgettable.

@igorsazonov I'm interested in weddings that have a balance of everything that is important, valuable and interesting to me. This is something with meaning, deeper... more than just about love.
Live cinematic photography with elements of unusual soulful staging. At the center of my shots are the relationships, feelings and emotions of the protagonists (couple) and characters (their friends and family). I try to integrate something "fresh" in the world of photography, but not to change myself within my style.

Alexander Ziegler

@spreeliebe Alex is a proud father, globetrotter and documentary photographer based between Germany and Spain. For over a decade, he has been capturing weddings in a pure documentary and candid style. With a background in Visual Journalism from Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where he studied under some of the world's leading photojournalists, he developed his way of telling authentic stories about people, traditions and community life.
His approach breaks away from typical wedding industry clichés, earning him numerous awards, recognition from major international associations, and invitations to serve as a juror at several photography competitions. Outside the wedding season, he loves to travel and continues to pursue personal documentary projects.

Benjamin Monge

@benjaminmonge Benjamín Monge, documentary wedding photographer from Concepción. In 2018 he left his career in the industrial area to devote himself fully to his passion: photography.
He has become a reference in the documentary style, where minimalism and elegance are always the protagonists.
Traveling around Chile and the world telling stories, thanks to this, his photographs and reports have led him to become the number 1 photographer in Chile and to be in the top 30 worldwide in MyWed.
Benjamin truly believes that an amazing photographer is not made by years of experience, but by the passion put into each photograph.

Christian Goenaga

@goenaga I'm a Colombian wedding photographer with over 12 years of experience, passionate about telling stories through my images. I love working with natural light and capturing genuine moments. For me, photography is a language — a way to communicate a message that can be "heard” through the eyes in the most beautiful and thoughtful way possible.
In 2016, I was named Breakthrough Photographer of the Year in my country. In 2018, Nikon Pro Magazine in London recognized me as an emerging artist in the new wave of photography. In 2024, I was honored to be selected by MyWed as one of the Top 10 Photographers of the Year, and in 2025, I proudly serve as a jury member for this incredible competition.
Photography has opened doors for me, taken me across countries, and brought me thousands of smiles. I love what I do.

@mandghollie A photographer from Yorkshire has become the first in the world to win Wedding Photographer of the Year and Family Photographer of the Year in the international This Is Reportage Awards.
Hollie said: "My passion is photography – getting to do it as a job makes me feel so lucky. For a long time, I had imposter syndrome. It's such a huge honour to be chosen to capture the biggest day of a couple's life but it can also be pretty intimidating, especially when you're starting out as a young female photographer.
"I've learned to overcome this by creating authentic work that speaks about me as an artist and a person. I feel very blessed to be recognised by international industry professionals but it is the wonderful feedback from my clients that really fills me with pride. Many of the couples whose weddings I photograph get back in touch to ask me to take their family photos. I've also done it the other way round where I've photographed a family and later the wedding."

How to take part?

You need to be a MyWed member to take part.

After being approved, you will be able to send your photos to the contest.

Already a member? Simply choose photos for the contest from your portfolio.

Who can participate?

Please join MyWed PRO to participate in the contest. After that, you will be able to submit 1 photo or series per each of the 22 nominations.

Can I participate for free?

All photographers can participate in any 2 nominations except for the Wedding Photographer of the Year.

Prizes

The winner of the Wedding Photographer of the Year nomination will get $3,000, the contest's grand prize.

The prize of $1,000 is dedicated to the author of the best series in the Love Before and After the Wedding nomination.

Additionally, a $1,000 special prize is provided by the website editors.

Winners of the rest of the nominations will receive $300 each.

10 finalists in each nomination will get MyWed PRO+ for the next 12 months.

Sizes and formats

Everyone enjoys looking at the beautiful shots in high quality. Please upload photos with resolution of at least 2400 pixels on the longer side or bigger.

The file must contain the EXIF data so that we can check the shooting date.

Series of photos

A series submitted to the Wedding Photographer of the Year nomination must consist of 40–60 photos. All photos in the series must be taken at the same wedding.

To the Love Before and After the Wedding nomination, you can submit a series consisting of 25–45 photos.

Authorship of photographs

It is considered that the author of a photo is the person who held the camera and pressed the shutter button.

By sending a photo to the MyWed Award contest, you confirm that you are its author.

It is permissible to use up to 10 photos from assistants in the "Photographer of the Year" nomination (series of photos).

You also guarantee that there are no third party objections against the participation of your photos in the contest.

What photos can be submitted?

Only photos taken in 2024 – 2025 are accepted.

To this-year additional nominations, you can submit only photos taken in 2023–2025.

What photos are forbidden?

Do not submit photos with frames, huge watermarks or logos.

Avoid pictures with diptychs, triptychs, multiple exposure, excessive post-production, design elements, etc.

Photos from workshops are not allowed.
