An Indian traditional weddings are carefullly planned, full of joy, celebration, tradition and warmth. It lasts for a span of 2-3 days, sometimes even more.
The families, friends and well wishers become a part of the celebration by gathering, singing, dancing and blessing the couple. The very essence of a traditional Indian wedding ceremony is the physical, spiritual, and emotional union of two people; it's also about the coming together of two families through prayer and celebration.
The sangeet, mehendi, the groom's arrival, the ceremony (puja), mandap, exchanging of garlands, vidaai (couple's send off) etc...all of these are performed with so much care and has a significance of it's own.
One goes through a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the entire wedding ceremony. From a happy gathering to meaningful blessings, celebration, appreciation, beautiful heart touching moments and then comes emotional farewell (vidaai)...all of these happens in one Indian traditional wedding.
