Courtney & Justen

Courtney & Justen's barn wedding was gorgeous from beginning to end. After getting ready, the couple had a private first look and formal photos with the wedding party at a farm property and nearby mill. I grew up just steps away from the feed mill we shot some of Courtney & Justen's wedding photos in. This industrial space has the most gorgeous light and incredible grungy textures that allows for a perfect contrast to these dapper folks. I seriously could have snapped away in here ALL DAY, but apparently we had to leave so that these two could go get married. I like to think that I can create breathtaking wedding portraits just about anywhere, but there's something to be said for securing a gorgeous location for your wedding photos. Originally this industrial space was going to be a backup rain location for Courtney & Justen's wedding photos, but once they toured it, they decided they wanted to go there for photos regardless of the weather. After an outdoor ceremony, located next to a cow field, Courtney & Justen's guests filtered into the most gorgeous barn for dinner, speeches and dancing. The most perfect golden light streamed into the windows of the barn, so I took the newlyweds across the road for a couple portraits. As we caught the last few minutes of sunlight, Courtney started tearing up. She said something to the effect of "This is so cute. Sunset photos were all I wanted."
