It’s not every day you get to shoot in a old historical castle, so when Jennie wrote to me from London to say that she and her fiancé Andres who comes from Colombia are getting married in Hjällö Slott I was excited to say the least!! International weddings for me have become the norm rather than the exception and I love it.There’s something eclectic, exciting and unique when love causes two different cultures to collide in one beautiful romance. I can still hear the multitude of languages being spoken all around me: Swedish, Spanish, English, Italian, did I even hear French? We kicked off the day with the girls getting ready in the castle and the guys spending the morning at Jennie’s parents house near by, followed by the couple’s portraits in the lush surroundings of lake Vättern.Time flies they say when you are having fun and soon enough it was time for the outdoor wedding ceremony in the back yard amongst the ancient trees overlooking the blue waters.The music is playing, the breeze of the wind rushing through your hair, people mingling, smiles, hugs and shouts of joy filled the air in the backyard as they had said “I do!”We managed to sneak out for a few more creative portraits as the summer sun was setting down over the harvest fields. Soon enough it was time for the dinner party upstairs where we danced till the early morning hours!I could keep on writing, but you get the picture.
