Abi and Mel

Leading up to their wedding, Abi and Mel and their closest family drove up to Scotland to Lochgoilhead, a tiny little vacation village where the only grocery store is the post office. The ceremony was set for The Lodge at Loch Goil, a cozy place in the rain – the kind you come into after hours of hiking in the heather and hills, and snuggle up by the fire with a book to read, a steaming cup of tea to sip, and shortbread to nibble on.The morning of the wedding, the ladies and their family spent time hiking and exploring together, then returned to their room to help each other get ready and put on their dresses. The entire tribe of under a dozen people squeezed into a treehouse overlooking the loch and the vast clouds above. There, Abi and Mel exchanged rings and love with their family, and then set off to read notes to each other in front of the crumbling Carrick Castle. Following a drive through winding hills, they stopped at Rest and Be Thankful Pass, put on their hiking shoes and took in the vast distances together, spending a moment just taking things in. After returning to the lodge, the whole family lit wish lanterns together and let them sail across the waters of the loch before retreating to the lodge for a quiet but jovial Scottish dinner.
