MARIJA & PERO

Sometimes the weather can be relentlessly rainy. It usually doesn’t bother us too much if we decide to spend it at home, watch Netflix, play board games, or try new recipes. But if it coincides that this is exactly what our wedding week looks like, we look forward to that day hoping for a sudden miracle and traces of the announcement of the sun. This is exactly the story that all newlyweds who decide to have an outdoor wedding go through, and Marija and Pero on Hvar went through it in mid-October.The global pandemic has forced many young couples to plan the day of the coronation of their love by marriage outdoors. What was considered almost exotic until just a few years ago is now becoming the rule. There is an increasing number of weddings taking place under the open sky so that the newlyweds can still be surrounded by all those people who love, know, support them and really want to share that special day with them. With the many restrictions brought by these new times, newlyweds do not want to compromise in closed halls, but rather take risks with the weather forecast so that their wedding has the most important thing – the love of family and friends. For days, Marija and Pero followed the change of rainy days and nights, due to which we were in constant contact and could not do the photo session that was supposed to take place before the wedding. But as my positive and cheerful spirit refuses to believe in bad forecasts, I headed to Hvar despite the black clouds hoping to notice the connection and closeness of this couple illuminated by the sun in the picturesque pieces of the beautiful island of Hvar, Ivan Dolac and Humac, on dusty roads. and off the beaten track, and on the rocks right by the sea. However, sometimes the sky is on our side because these romantic photos were taken just between the moments of rain and sun. With the last clicks of my camera, the raindrops came back.If there is one place on the island of Hvar that exudes the spirit of old, forgotten Dalmatia, it is certainly the abandoned Humac. This day echoed again with the screams of children, laughter of excited guests and the warmth of love of our newlyweds who decided to organize an excellent catering for their guests right here, in the heart of Humac, on the square. Then we all walked together to the unique stone church of St. John and Paul only a hundred meters away. Mary and Pero walked to the altar together, hand in hand. It was Perina's hand that brought Marija, who was studying abroad, back to Croatia, where they had already built a beautiful life together. After the ceremony, the newlyweds were accompanied by a song to Villa Humac, where we were greeted by another top catering. Dancing, music, delicious food, and a fantastic atmosphere were all the newlyweds could wish for. Although the sun was shy that day, and we were visited by rain followed by a storm, it did not sway the smiling guests to make this day unforgettable together with the newlyweds. And so it is in life itself – the order of the sun, the order of rain after which the sun always comes again. And in two it is all easier to endure. Maria and Pero, they certainly will.
