  • First and foremost – whom can you name as the best photographer in Hong Kong, Hong Kong? :)

    The best wedding photographer in Hong Kong... Hmm that's a tough question. There are so many different styles in the wedding photography community and I have to say that KC is my inspiration.

  • Are you photogenic?

    I'd like to think so.

  • How did you get in the photography industry?

    I started shooting fashion and contemporary design shows. It was a great way to start as wedding photographer as it introduced me to photography and capturing people.I quickly moved into advertising and marketing before forming Jeremy Wong Weddings. Now one of Hong Kong's top wedding photography studio.

  • What are the most important components of a good photo in your opinion?

    The story.

  • Do you love traveling?

    I have been lucky enough to travel all over the world capturing pre weddings. From Bali to the Cotswolds my travel has allowed me to meet many wonderful couples and photograph in some of the worlds most amazing locations.

  • What do you like most about your profession?

    Meeting new people and telling their wedding story.

  • What do you like least about your profession?

    The Hong Kong heat during a busy wedding day.

  • What will be the future of photography?

    With cameras getting better and better I believe that guests are the future of wedding photography. In my opinion it will come a point when a couple books a professional photography studio like JWW purely for the photoshoot. While anyone can take a decent photo, capturing the perfect photo at the perfect time will ever remain a skillset.

  • What is special in the photography genre you specialise at?

    Capturing moments that will live on forever.

  • How do you handle criticism?

    Of course. Without criticism you will never become a better wedding photographer.

  • Are there any trends in photography?

    Trends come and go however the principle philosophy of capturing photos that our couples love will remain forever.

  • What should be the criteria for a customer to choose a photographer?

    Do they like the portfolio.

  • What things are to be avoided when shooting?

    Over shooting. Take your time and capture the perfect shot. One amazing photo will live longer in the memory that 1000 bad ones.

  • What details that usually pass unnoticed can a photographer notice?

    The big picture. In our opinion the guest should enjoy a wedding. Its the skill of the photographer to see the bigger picture.

  • What influences the value of a photo? What are its elements?

    The people. The moment. The timing.

  • What person can be the symbol of the 21st century in your opinion?

    Elon Musk.

  • Who do you want to take photos of?

    The Royals.

  • Do you have any professional taboos?

    Not really. Be professional. Take good photos and the couple will love you.

  • Who would you like to shoot with?

    Jonas Peterson. Changed the wedding industry IMO.

  • What do you worry about, and why?

    My studio has shot hundreds if not thousands of weddings. Every single time we deliver a wedding to a couple there is always that tiny moment of hesitation. Will they like the photos???1000 weddings, 1000 happy couples.

  • What is the most impressive moment in your life?

    Working for Danny Boyle during the London 2012 opening ceremony.

  • If you were a cartoon, book or movie character, who would you be and why?

    Pikachu. Absolutely no idea why. I just love him.

  • Who inspires you in your life and why?

    Family, Friends, Brides, Grooms, People who live life to the fullest.

  • How do you define success? How do you measure it?

    Providing for your family. Living for your family.

  • Would you rather be liked or respected?

    Respected.

  • What is the biggest mistake you have ever made at work?

    Thinking I could do everything by myself and in turn, not putting my trust in people.

  • When you're going to travel, what do you take with you and why?

    Camera. Speaks for itself.

  • Is there anything among your gadgets that you wish you haven't bought? Why?

    In car phone holder. Found out my car already had one.

  • How do you educate yourself to take better pictures?

    Research research research. Oh and Mike and Tom.

  • Whose work has influenced you most as a photographer?

    Jonas Peterson.

  • What is the one thing you wish you knew when you started taking photos?

    The couple is the most important person. Please your couples and you will live happy.

  • What do you want to say with your photographs?

    I don't want to say anything. I just want our clients to love their images.

  • What motivates you to continue taking pictures?

    Our couples. The reaction on a brides face when we present her pre wedding shoot is priceless.

  • Should your parents have been more or less strict?

    Ask me. Less. Ask them. More. They are probably right.

  • If you could go back in time, what would you do differently?

    Become a wedding photographer sooner.

  • What about life on other planets?

    Got to be. Elon will find.

  • Who are your heroes?

    Mum, Dad... Brother. Maybe.

    People that don't listen.

  • What do you do in your spare time?

    Watch films and travel. Planning locations is also fun.

    Stressed. I like to remain as composed as possible at all times.

  • When are you completely satisfied with your work?

    Never. Surely.

  • Do you believe in the traditional roles for men and women?

    I believe you should do what makes you happy without making other people unhappy.

  • Do you make friends easily?

    Yes. 1000 weddings. 1000 couples. 999999999 new friends.

    Bali

    Work for free. Not every time.

    Yes.

    Build your portfolio every single day.
