Summer Camp Wedding in Upstate New York
31 Agosto 2019Chestertown, United States
I never went to summer camp growing up. Montana’s not really a summer camp kind of place. I’ve had friends who went to camp, first as campers and later as counselors. They have lifelong connections to the place and the people they met there. The way they talk about it has always made me wonder what it would have been like. Lucky for me, Jesse and I got a taste of summer camp last weekend at Lauren and Quentin’s New York destination wedding.Lauren and Quentin had a very particular vision for their wedding. They wanted a weekend for their guests to check out from everyday life, a place all to themselves for everyone to hang out, and a chance for everyone to feel like a kid again – basically everything you’d expect from summer camp for adults. They hit the bullseye (yes, that bad archery pun was completely intended) with Forest Lake Camp, a sprawling plot of land nestled in the Adirondacks.Forest Lake Camp had all the necessities for a memorable weekend. Archery, rock climbing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, good food, stargazing, and s’mores over a campfire. But the best part of this summer camp wedding was the people who came together to celebrate Lauren and Quentin. For two whole days, we got to see people from all over the U.S. (and the world) laugh, share stories, build bonds, and dance their faces off. And all because of the hard work, planning, and vision of Lauren and Quentin. So to all of their guests, do whatever you can to keep this amazing couple in your life. You won’t regret it.
