Melissa & Byron Wedding

I had the most incredible opportunity to shoot Melissa and Byron's wedding at Umtamvuna River Lodge on the South Coast. On arrival at the venue, it truly felt like I arrived in Bali. Just in South Africa. We were greeted by warm humid weather which set the tone for the Island vibe wedding the next day. Melissa and Byron have such an incredible love story and I was so honored to have been part of their story. They opted for a casual beach-style wedding. Melissa wore the most breathtaking delicate wedding gown by Vonve' Bridal. And lace applique detail around her ankles and feet. My first bare-foot bride. Byron, as always has such a Suave way about him. And on the wedding day, he pulled out all the stops. The bride and her bridal party arrived by speedboat on the river at the Ceremony location. Melissa and her father proceeded to walk down the aisle together. Tears were rolling down everyone's eyes as Byron couldn't hold back his own tears.We were then transported by speedboat to the opposite beach for the family and bridal photos. Obviously, I took the opportunity to shoot some images on the boat which resulted in the most spectacular shots. Once we were on the beach the magic happened. We were met with some soft wind and the sunset slowly doing it's dance. Aww man, I literally felt like I was dreaming. There was a moment where I just stood still and took it all in. Being a spectator to the most beautiful story being written.
I wonder if anyone had the same moment as I... just being there was so incredibly special. Byron kicked off the night serenading his Newly wedded Wifey. Oh wow!! Never knew he could sing and perform so well. Their Reception looked like something out of a fairytale. Long tables with simple island-style decor, loads of hanging lights and guests having the time of their life. A true Bali wedding, but better... In South Africa!!
