Boho Bride at Holyrood Park in Edinburgh

It was cold and grey on the day when Alice and me met to get ready for our planned shoot in Holyrood Park. Typically Scottish, I honestly didn't expect anything better. It´s always best to be positively surprised rather than to be disappointed. The day before I went to visit Snapdragon Edinburgh, which is an amazing florist in Edinburgh. I loved the bridal bouquet they created for us. It was exactly how I imagined it, loose, delicate flowers and huge, like a meadow in your hand.
The make up was done by Katherine from kjr-makupartist who travelled all the way from Oban to help out.We decided to got to Holyrood Park to take photos as it´s A really close and B absolutely beautiful scenery. I was speaking to my husband lately and we both agree that calling Holyrood Park a "park" is kind of an understatement. It´s literally a huge place with hills, ruins, woods and little lochs. You can literally walk for hours and it´s in the heart of Edinburgh. I call it the "miniature highlands".
In the pictures you can see the ruin of Saint Anthony's Chapel which is a popular spot to get engaged or even married. Walking up the little hill is worth it to be able to enjoy stunning views over the city of Edinburgh.
I really recommend visiting Holyrood Park when in Edinburgh. Especially in spring you can enjoy hundreds and thousands of gorse bushes that transform the hills into a glowing yellow land. It´s just magical!
The idea behind the styled bridal photo shoot was to create a boho wedding style combined with the free feeling nature gives us. Alice really got into character when she stepped into the loch with her glittery wedding wellies and started dancing next to the gorse bushes. She was a truly wild and free bride closely connected to nature.
