—That is very hard to do, there are so many talented photographers in NYC.
Recently discovered Sergey Lapkovsky and in love with work.

—Are you photogenic?

—I am definitely not.

—How did you get in the photography industry?

—Results of curiosity.

—What are the most important components of a good photo in your opinion?

—Emotion, Is it able to convey something, with a message.

—Do you love traveling?

—Yes, very much so.

—What do you like most about your profession?

—It's a different experience every time. The new locations, new paces, new people. You get to learn a lot from this.

—What do you like least about your profession?

—Sitting in front of the computer.

—What will be the future of photography?

—Augmented reality, this is the coming trend.

—What is special in the photography genre you specialise at?

—What is not special in wedding photography? You get to experience all sorts of emotions, and you get to capture them and share them. Top of that you get to celebrate one of the biggest days in someone's life with them.

—How do you handle criticism?

—It's like a pinching sensation, but it doesn't show but i do welcome it. It helps us learn and helps us improve our craft.

—Are there any trends in photography?

—Current trends seem focused on warmer tones.

—What should be the criteria for a customer to choose a photographer?

—1.Work

—What things are to be avoided when shooting?

—Things that are not in the frame.

—What details that usually pass unnoticed can a photographer notice?

—Symmetry and balance i would say.

—1. Conveying emotional reaction.

—Being able to make a sustainable income from photography.

—Jerry, very clever little mouse he is.

—My dad, long story

—How do you define success? How do you measure it?

—Small goals, I measure it by happiness. At the end whether I succeed or not, can I live with my self? If at any point where I am not able to live with my self, that when I am unsuccessfully but other then that Everyday I am the success.

—Would you rather be liked or respected?

—Respected

—What is the biggest mistake you have ever made at work?

—Giving some one $400 extra!

—When you're going to travel, what do you take with you and why?

—Toothbrush and Tweezers, because I have a unibrow

—Is there anything among your gadgets that you wish you haven't bought? Why?

—Roti maker for $500 because I did the pre-order and I was getting $500 off the market price. I still don't know how I feel about it. Market price is $1000, and I paid $500 since I did a pre-order for $50, so .. I'm not sure if I regret it or not but is as far as I for regret.

—How do you educate yourself to take better pictures?

—Looking at other photographers work, and watching the critics.

—Whose work has influenced you most as a photographer?

—I think Susan Stripling's but I get inspiration from everywhere.

—What is the one thing you wish you knew when you started taking photos?

—Investment

—awww! thats nice!!

—What motivates you to continue taking pictures?

—Creating something original.

—Should your parents have been more or less strict?

—I think they were exactly what i needed!

—Not use so much hair gel.

—No never am! Need to improve. There is so much room for improvements.

—Invest wisely. Learn, don't be scared to hear criticism, be humble enough to admit when you are wrong. You name and word is everything.
