Interview

  • First and foremost – whom can you name as the best photographer in Novi Sad, Serbia? :)

To be honest I respect and value my colleagues but I have no interest in their work, so I might not be the best person for this question.

  • Are you photogenic?

Oh god yes, Im so photogenic that just to be sure I will never be in the picture I started hiding behind the camera. :))

  • How did you get in the photography industry?

Full time graphic designer, unhappy with my life I found a blow of valve in photography. I fell in love with photography so much that I couldn't imagine doing it as a paid work, up until I started following my girl who is a make up artist on wedding gigs and started taking pictures and when newlyweds started using my photos in their album I kind still didnt want to get in to it but everyone around me pushed me in the right direction and I havent looked back ever since.

  • What are the most important components of a good photo in your opinion?

Thats easy, emotion, emotion and emotion. You can have perfect light, composition but if there is no emotion there is no picture.

  • Do you love traveling?

Traveling is the only form of richness you take to your grave. You cant take money or anything material, I value my life of much I have seen the world and learned more about us humans. Thats why I love doing weddings.

  • What do you like most about your profession?

Photography is such a vast field, and it is easy to get lost in it.So why did I choose weddings? Well, apart from shooting weddings, I love child photography, l.o.v.e. it! A kid looks at you honestly and he either likes you or not.Raw emotion is so hard to see nowadays since we all have our busy lives, and true emotion has become a commodity. And if there’s one place where people lower their guard and just let their emotions flow, it’s at weddings. This raw emotion of happiness mixed with natural light is the essence of my work.So that fact right there makes me tingly and gives me the drive forward, always provoking me to make that next shot and enjoy every single moment of my job.

  • What do you like least about your profession?

Hm, every wedding is unique, this question is not for me, you either love or hate this job for me its love all the way or I wouldn't be in this line of work.

  • What will be the future of photography?

It will get more and more personal, I hope for me at least that I will have a chance to show their life, their hopes and dreams in my pictures and to truly put a time stamp in their lives with the photos I make.

  • What is special in the photography genre you specialise at?

Everything good comes in one place and time with one mission in mind to celebrate life, love and eternity.

  • How do you handle criticism?

Im just a human with passion for photography, I make mistakes and I learn from them, there is no emotion god or bad, if the person criticising has a point I will thank him for helping me.

  • Are there any trends in photography?

    Always, and always changing.

  • What should be the criteria for a customer to choose a photographer?

Well see it as this, wedding photographer is the only sober person that will be with you on your special day from the beginning up to late hours. :)
His personality and his empathy for the problems you might have during that day will influence your overall experience of your wedding day. If you are not married you might not get that but ask around with your wedding friends.

  • What things are to be avoided when shooting?

Well for me personally I don't like to see a bad photo of me and also I don't like to see a bad photo of anyone else. So if I make a great photo but the main subject being that bride or groom or even a guest is not at its best or at least acceptable I will not use that photo. I'm not there to make my carrier Im there to make a memorable photos.

  • What details that usually pass unnoticed can a photographer notice?

The devil is in the details. Most of the time I will worry about the details in the photo. I will move half of the room just so they will have a nice photo.

  • What influences the value of a photo? What are its elements?

A lot, and Im not gonna name the obvious ones, the ones that people cant predict is the ones with the people that might not be in our lives in the future. Thats why I take extra care of the family photos and emotional moments with the parents. Photos like that are kept for life.

  • Who do you want to take photos of?

Happy people in any shape or form, any gender, any race, any sexual orientation.

  • Do you have any professional taboos?

    No.

  • What do you worry about, and why?

I worry that this life is not enough for everything I want to see and learn.

  • What is the most impressive moment in your life?

Im humble, and I try to make waking up and getting out of a bed a victory. That being said, Im still waiting for that moment.

  • If you were a cartoon, book or movie character, who would you be and why?

Cartoon hmm I would be Dexter, I love to work on things. :))

  • Who inspires you in your life and why?

My work is observing and taking pictures of people. You can learn so much about life and everything just by letting people be who they are. I get inspired by their stories which I love to hear.

  • How do you define success? How do you measure it?

Success is nothing more that giving it your best no matter the fee your are paid. And success is feeling of joy when newlyweds thank me for the service I gave.
