Interview

  • First and foremost – whom can you name as the best photographer in Veenendaal, Netherlands? :)

Nobody in my city actually! But in the Netherlands are sooooo many amazing photographers!

  • Are you photogenic?

Hm.. not really. I smile very easily (and hard) but that's not a 'I always look cute and cool on a spontaneous picture' kind of way

  • How did you get in the photography industry?

I studied photography in Madrid at CEU San Pablo. From the beginning I was hooked.

  • What are the most important components of a good photo in your opinion?

Moments are for me the most important. A good photo is when you feel something looking at it.

  • Do you love traveling?

YES! I'm on a trip multiple time per year!

  • What do you like most about your profession?

People trust me in their lives on very special moments. And so special to witness all those moments and capture it.

  • What do you like least about your profession?

Hm.. not really anything. I love to work with people and I also love to edit on my one. Maybe administration if I have to think of something?

  • What will be the future of photography?

I think people will see the value more and more. There are a lot of different styles and it's great, because everybody should be able to pick their favorite photographer for their day.

  • What is special in the photography genre you specialise at?

People trust you to be there on one of the most special days in their lives. I'm there while getting dresses, the first look, everything. That makes me humble everytime! And I love to photograph their day and all the relationships with the people who are there and whom they love.

  • How do you handle criticism?

Everybody has different opinions, when it's constructive I will work on it!

  • Are there any trends in photography?

Yes of course, we had the selective coloring a couple of years ago. Now it's more and more about emotions. And there is more room for more creative shots and less very posing shots (YAY)!

  • What should be the criteria for a customer to choose a photographer?

Of course you must like the style of photography. But hen: the most important thing is about how it feels. Do you feel a connection with your photographer and do you trust him? Your photographer will be there the WHOLE day very close to you and that's has to feel good.

  • What things are to be avoided when shooting?

Being nervous or grumpy when something goes wrong. As a photographer I always SMILE :)

  • What details that usually pass unnoticed can a photographer notice?

The 'daily' things, the things we all find normal. But I see those connections as a part of the story of the people who are there.
