  • How did you get in the photography industry?

    When I was looking for a different and true alternative to a Fashion Photography.

  • What are the most important components of a good photo in your opinion?

    Composition, exposition and a great moment!

    I live for traveling!

    Be part of one of the most important moments in people's lives.

  • What do you like least about your profession?

    Not being able to watch movies on weekends with my children's

  • What will be the future of photography?

    It's going to be one of the most powerful BUSINESS in the world, but we need to grow like artists not like a business people.

  • What is special in the photography genre you specialise at?

    The love, happiness and the good energy in the air!

  • How do you handle criticism?

    When it's a constructive critic, I take it as challenges, but sometimes they are just opinions without argument and photography is relative.

  • Are there any trends in photography?

    Yes, documentary photography its one of the most "popular" trend.

  • What should be the criteria for a customer to choose a photographer?

    A good vibe with the photographer, that its the most important thing. Because we are going to stay together for more than 8 hours, and we need to feel comfortable.

  • What things are to be avoided when shooting?

    I always avoid drinking alcohol. I need to be focusing all time!

  • What details that usually pass unnoticed can a photographer notice?

    The magic of the light!

  • What influences the value of a photo? What are its elements?

    A photograph needs to generate feelings and emotions.

  • What person can be the symbol of the 21st century in your opinion?

    I like technology, so I think Steve Jobs did an incredible job.

  • Who do you want to take photos of?

    To one of my favorite bands: Ac/Dc... but they are no longer on stage. :(

  • Do you have any professional taboos?

    Not really, I'm not a "taboo" man.

  • Who would you like to shoot with?

    What a question, maybe Sebastião Salgado or Emmanuel Lubezki.

  • What do you worry about, and why?

    I'm not a really worried person, I always try to enjoy the little things.

  • What is the most impressive moment in your life?

    When I adopted God in my life.

  • If you were a cartoon, book or movie character, who would you be and why?

    One Mexican character: "El Chapulin Colorado" he was a TRUE hero, without magical powers.

  • Who inspires you in your life and why?

    God, it's my spiritual guide and my family my support on earth.

  • How do you define success? How do you measure it?

    Success is being happy and shares your life with the people who love you.

  • Would you rather be liked or respected?

    Respected for being a good person

  • What is the biggest mistake you have ever made at work?

    Work for money, without passion.

  • When you're going to travel, what do you take with you and why?

    My family, I have two children, so on each trip, we carry a lot of luggage.

    I'm not a compulsive buyer, I only buy what is necessary.

  • How do you educate yourself to take better pictures?

    I'like to watch films, with dark exposition and weird stories, that help me to understand more the connection between light and people and how to tell the stories.

    Mauricio Arias of Chrisman Studios and Jonas Peterson.

  • What is the one thing you wish you knew when you started taking photos?

    There is no shortcuts!

  • What do you want to say with your photographs?

    Enjoy your life, and sleep less.

  • What motivates you to continue taking pictures?

    God and my family.

  • Should your parents have been more or less strict?

    My mother is an important pillar in my life, she has always helped me and she knows how to be strict when necessary.

  • If you could go back in time, what would you do differently?

    I would study and travel more!

    God and my family.

    For people who despise others; neither do the corrupt ones deserve respect.

  • What do you do in your spare time?

    God – Family and photography, we always looking for those things together.

    I don't like to talk too much but I'm not a serious person.

  • When are you completely satisfied with your work?

    Never. I have too many things to learn.

  • Do you believe in the traditional roles for men and women?

    Not really, these are modern times! we are equal. Even to take out the trash in the mornings!

  • Do you make friends easily?

    Sometimes.

  • Where would you like to live?

    On the beach but close to the mountains.

  • What's the stupidest thing you've ever agreed to do?

    Work for money.

  • Is there life after marriage?

    I don't have an idea, I'm happily married.

    Seriously?

  • Do you like dogs or cats?

    I love dogs but we have a cat ... life is not fair.

  • Who or what do you hate?

    I don't like the politicians. Especially the Colombians.

  • The best thing in life is:

    God, family, and photography.

  • The most annoying thing in life is:

    I do not have more free time, I need at least 30-hour days.

  • Is there anything around you that you would like to change?

    The corruption in the world.

  • What would you like to change in yourself?

    Being more focused on the really important things and read more.

  • What would you like to change in the world?

    injustice and hunger.

  • Can you give a few tips for photographers who are just starting out?

    Worry about better every day of your photography, have clear short and long-term goals and remember don't exists shortcuts.

  • If aliens come to the Earth and you are the first person they meet, what will you tell them?

    Can I take a picture? Just here... in the light?

  • If you are called to shoot a movie, what genre will it be?

    A documentary about the opportunities outside of our own country.

  • Tomorrow I will go and do...

    A better son, a better husband, a better father and after that a better photographer.
