Interview

  • Are you photogenic?

In 99% of the cases I am at the other end of the camera, so it's hard to say :)

  • How did you get in the photography industry?

I was the victim of a friend's request, after which I kept being passed around and the circle became wider and wider. I have a colourful personality though, besides wedding photography I like to venture into the more artistic side of my profession.

  • What are the most important components of a good photo in your opinion?

The right subject(s), according history and to capture the unique moment.

  • Do you love traveling?

I do! I think I have a "travel-gene" somewhere in me, I pass by a dozen places throughout the year, be it for work or holiday purpouses.
When it concerns work, it is usually Spain, Malta and Cyprus that are top of the list, but I hope this range will widen further.

  • What do you like most about your profession?

At weddings, it is to allow the couples to relive their most important, most beautiful memories, getting them into fun situations which they are very gratful for – I like it when they thank me for my work and I can see the confirmation in their eyes that I have performed at least at a 100%.
I also like my clients' positive feedback on my ideas and their adherence towards me

  • What do you like least about your profession?

That there is sometimes not enough time for a project :(

  • What will be the future of photography?

    Uniqueness, creativity, motivation

  • What is special in the photography genre you specialise at?

A fantastic location (which is given at many a mediterranean country), the couples' personal attitude/style and lots&lots of creative ideas!

  • How do you handle criticism?

Pretty well! If it's constructive criticism and useful when thought through, then I will definitely integrate it into my daily work.

  • Are there any trends in photography?

Thankfully – and at the same time, unfortunately – yes.

  • What should be the criteria for a customer to choose a photographer?

    - the pictures and their style
    - the personality of the photographer (to meet in person in advance is paramount!)
    - flexibility
    - finally, the price/performance

  • What things are to be avoided when shooting?

I have not yet encountered a situation like this – perhaps I am lucky? :)

  • What details that usually pass unnoticed can a photographer notice?

In this line of work we often have to look ahead in certain situations, we need to notice an important moment before it actually happens. Coherent events, the outburst or even withholding of emotions, a look – overall multiple facets that merge into one single scene.

  • How do you educate yourself to take better pictures?

Talk with colleagues, putting up new experiences.

  • What do you want to say with your photographs?

Share moments, emotions, and – if it doesn't concern weddings,- depict my own emotions and gorgeous landscapes

  • What motivates you to continue taking pictures?

I'd like to visit as many places as possible, create extraordinary material to still my hunger for perfection

  • If you could go back in time, what would you do differently?

    I do not regret anything...

  • When are you completely satisfied with your work?

When I see that an album receives a bright smile even at the second viewing.
Non-wedding relatedly: a direct second order, an honest compliment.

  • Do you make friends easily?

    I'm an instant blender :)

  • Where would you like to live?

    Near the sea

  • Is there life after marriage?

I have not tried it yet ;)

  • Do you like dogs or cats?

Dogs are not just with you out of interest, I respect and love them more, but I am ok with cats too.

  • If aliens come to the Earth and you are the first person they meet, what will you tell them?

Hi, would you like to grab a beer? :D

  • Tomorrow I will go and do...

...nothing, just sleep long and deep for a change:)
