A romantic Italian countryside wedding inspired by legacy, artistry, and a once-in-a-lifetime love. The Love Story
From college best friends to husband and wife, Fallyn and Matthew's journey began in the most unexpected — yet perfect — way. They met at 18 on the first week of school, shortly became part of the same circle, until time, friendship, and fate evolved into something more. Over eight years together, their relationship has been one of laughter, deep connection, and chasing beauty in the everyday. We’ve always believed in seeking magic — the once-in-a-lifetime kind — to match their once-in-a-lifetime love. The Proposal
When Matt proposed, it wasn’t just the start of their engagement — it was the moment when Fallyn realized a childhood dream could become real: getting married in Italy. He proposed under a romantic, Italian-inspired gazebo surrounded by a serene pond and lush gardens in Dallas’ historic Highland Park neighborhood. It was peaceful, heartfelt, and intimate — just the two of them until Fallyn shortly realized two of her best friends hiding behind a column snapping photos and capturing the moment all on video.
Little she knew, the moment was only just beginning. Afterward, they returned to a nearby home where Matt had planned the most incredible surprise: a party filled with family — many of whom had traveled from all over — and their closest friends. The celebration was filled with happy tears, champagne, a pink and red cake that had written crazy in love on top, and so much love. It was the most beautiful, emotional surprise Fallyn could’ve ever imagined. The Vision
Italy wasn’t just a dream wedding destination — it was a tribute to Fallyn's family and her grandfather’s heritage. Since she was a little girl, her family spoke of an Italian wedding like a faraway fairytale. Her grandfather — the heart of the family. Fallyn and Matthew lost him shortly after Matt and Fallyn graduated college, and honoring his memory became the heartbeat of their celebration. As an interior designer, Fallyn approached the wedding the way she would a deeply personal creative project — blending storytelling with emotional design and thoughtful, layered details. Fallyn and Matthew envisioned a weekend that felt soulful and elevated, with a touch of old-world glamour and modern romance.Instagram led us to our planner, Beatrice, who quickly became the fairy godmother of Fallyn and Matthew's wedding dreams. With her brilliant vision, expertise, and next level organization they spent 12 months planning the most magical weekend at Nikis Resort, nestled in the rolling hills of Umbria. The Setting
Gubbio felt like a hidden gem — peaceful, historic, and wildly romantic. The venue, a 12th-century monastery turned boutique resort, offered sweeping views of the countryside and gave the entire weekend a cinematic quality. Every sunset felt like a painting. The air was scented with lavender and rosemary. It felt like time had paused. A place where the best cappuccino in all of Italy is created. Fallyn and Matthew hosted a full wedding weekend: a welcome pizza party family style under the stars, a sun-drenched pool day, a morning yoga session, a midday ceremony, a sunset wedding dinner, a dance party for the ages, and a joyful Italian BBQ to close. The dream was for every guest to feel like they were part of something rare and unforgettable — a once-in-a-lifetime gathering in one of the world’s most beautiful corners. The Design Details
The color palette was inspired by the warm tones of an Italian sunset — rose, soft peach, chartreuse green, and candlelit gold. Every element was layered with intention: illustrated scarves, artisan textiles, overflowing floral runners, textured vintage under plates, layered candles, and string lights. They incorporated painterly elements, heirloom-inspired tableware, and draping that wouldn’t be start but highlight the natural beauty of its surroundings to create intimacy and elegance. Fallyn wanted her guests to feel as though they had stepped into a dream — curated but never contrived, classic but never expected. Fashion & Style
Fallyn's dress was a reflection of timeless femininity — romantic, modern, and completely one-of-a-kind. Custom-designed with hand-selected lace, it embodied everything I envisioned for the day. She kept accessories minimal to let the gown speak for itself and wore her grandmother’s earrings as a nod to her family’s legacy.Matt wore a beige linen suit from Banana Republic with vintage Ferragamo tassel loafers — the perfect mix of elevated and relaxed. For the reception, the look transitioned beautifully into a summer evening under the stars. The bridal party dressed in sunset-inspired tones that felt cohesive but personal, and guests were invited to embrace “Italian summer chic” — linen, silk, and their most stylish selves. The Ceremony & Celebration
Fallyn and Matthew said I do with the Sun shining bright and the incredible Umbrian hills rolling behind them. A soloist performed a custom version of “Her” as she walked down the aisle — a moment suspended in time. Followed the ceremony an aperitif hour that was define. They exchanged vows at sunset, gathered around their long dinner table beneath string lights and next to gorgeous olive trees. Dinner was served al fresco with soft romantic music. Guests dined on local truffle pasta, Umbrian wines, and fresh, seasonal Italian fare. They danced under the stars to Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, and their favorite timeless classics were then song loud in proud under the gorgeous stars. The evening ended with a champagne tower and sparkling fountain fireworks with the cutting of the cake, a typical Italian millefoglie and overall — it felt as though the stars themselves were celebrating with them.
