After Wedding Photoshoot – Hofgarten, Munich

The Hofgarten was built between 1613 and 1617 by Elector Maximilian I of Bavaria in the Italian Renaissance style. At its center stands the Diana Pavilion, designed by Heinrich Schön the elder in 1615. Eight paths radiate from its arches, and on its roof is a replica of Hubert Gerhard’s 1623 Bavaria sculpture—the original is in the Residenz. To the east is the Bavarian State Chancellery (Staatskanzlei), housed in the former Army Museum with modern glass extensions, completed in 1993. Nearby once stood the Hofgartenkaserne (1801–1899). In front lies the World War I memorial Kriegerdenkmal. In the northeast corner is a black granite memorial to the White Rose resistance group. The south side features 1853 flower beds by Carl Effner, with arcades decorated with Bavarian history paintings to the west and north. The western Hofgartentor, built by Leo von Klenze in 1816, leads to the Theatinerkirche. The garden, destroyed in WWII, was rebuilt blending 17th-century formality with 19th-century landscape style. Now open to the public, it's a popular spot for both locals and visitors. Odeonsplatz U-Bahn station is directly to the west.
