One of the most famous Czech wedding traditions is breaking a plate at the reception, symbolizing good luck and teamwork as the newlyweds clean up the shards together. The couple also shares a bowl of soup, feeding each other to represent unity and cooperation. Another custom involves guests throwing rice or lentils at the couple after the ceremony to wish them prosperity.Czech weddings are filled with music, dancing, and plenty of food and drinks, especially traditional dishes like roast pork, dumplings, and sauerkraut, as well as wedding cakes (sweet pastries).
