Deepak & Antonia

Antonio, a singer from Germany and Deepak, an artist from India, were making art and doing their daily chores, spilling laughter and silence in and around their bamboo hut in Auroville village. I unobtrusively tried to capture their moments together, which hummed along with the rustle of the trees and the fluttering little butterflies.
When I was shooting Antonio and Deepak I realised Intimacy is about the truth. When you know you can tell someone your truth, when you can show yourself to them, when you stand in front of them and their response is ‘you’re safe with me’, that’s intimacy.
