I wanted to analogically portray the women's struggle with society. When vermilion is put on a woman's forehead her eyes normally come down due to shyness as this ritual shows her indefinite love for the beloved. Since time immemorial a woman is made to jump into the fire to prove her purity, she always put a smile on her face and did the same but the onlookers hardly know that every woman is fire herself and could never be burnt from within. She is as pure as any other element of nature – indestructible. What will burn is the pride of the patriarchy who has always told her to prove her purity in front of society.
