Hochzeit in den Bergen
2023 8月26日Bad Hindelang, Germany
A mountain wedding in the Allgäu Alps has a special kind of calm to it: wide views, fresh air, nature all around—and moments that don’t need to be staged because they’re simply real. I had the privilege of documenting this day as a wedding photographer in the Allgäu: a family with three small children (including twins), lots of closeness, lots of laughter, and those quiet, emotional seconds you remember for years. The day begins: Getting Ready in Jungholz (Austria)The morning started with a relaxed getting ready in Jungholz, Tyrol. The atmosphere at the hotel felt warm and familiar. The bride got ready with the children nearby—loving, present, and surprisingly calm in the best way.First Look in the Allgäu mountainsFor the first look, the couple met on a green meadow with the Allgäu mountains behind them. Everything became quiet for a moment. When they saw each other, emotions rose immediately—there were tears, and a sense of “this is it.” Intimate, honest, and deeply touching.Mountain wedding portraits with Haflinger horsesOn the way to the Meckatzer Sportalp in Bad Hindelang, we made a short stop for portraits—and then something happened that you can’t plan: we met a small herd of Haflinger horses. Their calm presence and golden coats fit beautifully into the landscape, and we were able to include them naturally and elegantly in the wedding portraits in the mountains.Wedding at Meckatzer Sportalp (Allgäu)The plan was an outdoor church ceremony, but the weather had other ideas. Luckily, the Meckatzer Sportalp offered a cozy, rustic alternative. With the heartfelt music of wedding singer Mara Notz, the ceremony turned into an emotional highlight. The location was meaningful for the couple, too: only about ten minutes away, at Vilsalpsee, the groom had proposed—a beautiful connection woven into the day.Celebration, sunset light, and a sparkler danceAfter the ceremony, the celebration felt light and joyful. The children brought so much energy and warmth to the party, while guests enjoyed the relaxed mountain atmosphere.
Just before sunset, we captured a final set of portraits in soft evening light—an incredibly romantic backdrop with the Allgäu Alps behind them.
