SIOBHAN & LINUS | DESTINATION WEDDING IN ITALY

SIOBHAN & LINUS | DESTINATION WEDDING IN ITALY
AMAZING PROPOSAL
Wedding in Castello Monaci, Italy. After Linus’s amazing proposal on a private beach in Qatar we immediately started to think where we wanted to get married. Being professional dancers from England & Sweden… and emigrating to Qatar to pursue our careers in construction. We had friends and family from all corners of the world who we wanted to unite for our special day. Italy has always been in our hearts with the fabulous style, food and culture – and after finding our dream wedding venue in Puglia (the wine region). We instantly fell in love and started to plan our Italian destination wedding. Wedding in Castello Monaci – is a fairytale, romantic castle – lush with greenery and its own winery provided the backdrop for our wedding week (it was an added bonus that when we first met Linus had dreamt about us one day marrying in a castle!).Besides the beautiful areas and on-site accommodation allowed us to hold other events for our guests during the week including a Welcome BBQ, Wine tour & Farewell Pizza Party. The staff from the castle, especially Pamela & Marco became our friends during wedding preparations. In fact, they both filled us with confidence when we were initially nervous planning remote. As follows they were fantastic, answered endless questions and offered honest advice and they could not have made our week more perfect or fun and were there 24 hours a day catering to any request.GETTING READY
Linus, his Best Man and Siobhan’s Father stood out in Morning Suits, while Linus wore a jacket a shade of grey darker and Christian Louboutin dress shoes to create a focal point. Siobhan’s dress was the perfect combination of tradition and modern. The Ronald Joyce ‘Hermione’ dress was a tight fishtail silhouette with a train long enough to compliment the beautiful Cathedral. A light ivory colour, it was beautifully embellished with lace and beads and fitted in with the warm, rustic and romantic style we were trying to create. Unusually the sides of the dress were cutaway – giving it a modern sexy, hourglass touch (and helped keep cool in the heat!). Her look was finished with bespoke made diamond & pearl jewellery from her parents and stunning white & crystal heels by Italian shoe designer ‘Rene Caovilla’.The morning of the wedding, ‘Antonio Candido Unique’ oversaw the hairstyling. Perfectly understood the romantic style we wanted and made us all look amazing. Antonio’s work was complemented by ‘Anna Chiriatti’s’ makeup. She had a tough job doing the make-up for 7 bridesmaids, Mother of the Bride and the Bride herself – who were all professional dancers and used to having their make-up done. Everyone adored the looks she created and were super impressed with the waterproof make-up that stayed on perfect all day and night in the Italian summer sun. Following getting ready, we opened our gifts to each other. From Siobhan, a personalised heritage silver pocket watches to finish off Linus’s classic ensemble. From Linus, beautiful wedding underwear and ‘Bvlgari La Gemme’ perfume for Siobhan’s wedding scent.WEDDING CEREMONY
Then we made our way in 3 wedding cars to the ‘Florence of the South’ – Lecce. Firstly Linus and his Best Man, in a white classic Alfa Romeo Spider, then the Mother of the Bride and Bridesmaids in a white limousine and finally a white Excalibur for Siobhan and her Father. Characteristic winding streets, with the locals cheering as we drove past, lead us to our ceremony in Lecce Cathedral – which stands prominently in its own grand square ‘Piazza del Duomo’.To illustrate the Italian tradition of rice throwing provided us with some amazing group shots – where we even had some birds join in the fun! Especially the ceremony was undoubtedly our favourite memory of the day. We were full of emotion seeing each other at the altar (which was perfectly captured in our wedding film). We exchanged bespoke rings that we had designed together and had made in Qatar. Both rings had a secret sapphire on the inside of the band to signify our ‘something blue’.RECEPTION
Back at the castle – our vision for the flowers was to create an ‘enchanted’ forest which complemented our theme of wine, vineyards and deep grape colours. ‘Rollo Fiori’ fashioned twisted tree centrepieces with hanging tealights – complete with sprouting greenery, fresh seasonal flowers and bunches of grapes. Our décor was complete with a range of personalised wedding favours which included hand-painted glass bottles of limoncello. Siobhan’s mum had carefully planned an array of gorgeous wedding favours that were given to guests during the day – including personalised sweets for the Lecce coach trip, monogrammed handbag hooks, kid’s activity packs, flat dancing shoes for the evening & grape colour pashminas. Our guests were entertained during dinner by ‘Alberto Caricatures’ who gifted his hilarious artwork to the guests he drew and local Pizzica dancers ‘Passione Taranta’ who had everyone on their feet – and also danced with us!PARTY
When the sunset over the castle, we wanted to switch things up for the evening. Siobhan, therefore, had a dress & hair change. Her look was converted to a ‘sleek’ style, featuring a white crepe ‘Pronovias’ dress with crystals, completed by Jimmy Choo flats to be able to party the night away. Siobhan had designed her bridesmaids dresses with features that resembled her evening dress and after an amazing fire eater performance – the night was kicked off by making a ‘sparkler entrance’ followed by our first dance to our teen love song Westlife’s ‘Grow Old with You’…and a surprise flash mob bridal party dance!Futher we wanted a party to remember and our live band ‘Truly Medley Deeply’ gave us just that. Their mashup’s and clever medleys featuring iconic songs from all our favourite genres were a huge hit with all our guests. The guests gathered in the castle courtyard for the cutting of the cake, which was topped with a custom made ‘bobblehead’ versions of ourselves. As we cut the sky was lit up with roman candle fireworks all around us – which resulted in one of our standout photos of the wedding. Succeeding that, the open bar and party continued with more awesome medleys by TMD, who kept everyone dancing till the early hours.DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS
We knew, that after our wedding day was over, our lasting memory would be the photographs – so prioritising photography and choosing the perfect team was vital to us. Later, stumbling upon ‘Fotoclip’ and seeing their website – the beauty and art that came through in their work took our breath away. Their photographs looked like something from a timeless movie and we loved their ability to capture the romance of a moment. Travelling from Spain, nothing was too much to ask from Dimitri and Anna. Indeed they made us feel comfortable and instantly understood how we wanted a balance between candid shots and beautifully portraits. In fact they listened to what was important to us and have provided us with perfect pictures and videos that allow us to relive each and every moment and emotion of our perfect day.
