Darren & Ashlyn

Darren & Ashlyn were introduced the old fashioned way, through mutual friends on a random summer night out. They really hit it off but it was not till a year later, that by chance Darren ended up getting a job in the same area where Ashlyn worked that they crossed paths again. At that point in time, one of Ashlyn’s best friends who initially introduced them was really bugging Darren to ask Ashlyn, out which of course he had every intention of doing. Being placed at the same job site was simply the best thing that happened to him, because at that point he said that “bumping into her accidentally” was just too easy. They again hit it off just like when they first met and the rest is history.Darren actually booked us for their Victoria wedding at Hatley Castle before they were even officially engaged! Darren finally made it official on a trip to Maui in the fall. He chose to pop the question at one of the more secluded beaches on the island, off the beaten path before Makena Beach near Wailea. Darren arranged for a local photographer to capture their proposal by hiding in the bushes. Darren, under the guise of showing Ashlyn a cool beach he found before dinner, caught her off guard while she was admiring the sunset, when he called out to her while on one knee. She was shocked, despite having made wedding plans prior.Their incredibly detailed and personal Asian Fusion wedding took place over a few days in Victoria, with festivities at the Four Points Sheraton and their ceremony and reception at the always stunning Hatley Castle. A dream team of the top Victoria vendors were on board for their day, making it the perfect mix of organization, sentimental touches and creative design. Their Hindu ceremony took place in the gardens, followed by cocktails and a dinner reception in the castle. This wedding was one for the books and blew us away with how well the vision these two had was executed. Here’s a peek at their day, including an impromptu and classy trip to McDonalds.
