Suzy + Tony

Suzy and Tony’s big day was our first wedding of the year, and the first of a brand new decade so we couldn’t wait to get going. We met Tony and Suzy last year and they told us all about their plans for the day and how they were doing things a little differently so we were delighted when they decided to book us.There was one uninvited guest who was threatening to show up in the morning and that was storm Ciara, fortunately, she didn’t appear until much later in the day – in fact, we had just taken our last photo during the couple shoot before the skies opened, now that’s what I call timing!We began our day by visiting Suzy as she and Team Bride were getting ready for the day ahead. It’s always a great time of the day to capture as there are a whole host of emotions on show. Not to mention Suzy had bought in an absolute ton of cake, and it was totally delicious. Soon enough it was time to head off to St Barbara’s church to catch up with Tony before the ceremony and get some shots of him looking nervous :)The service was a lovely and personal affair with loads of personal touches thrown in. The choir from Suzy’s school came along and performed at various points throughout the ceremony and the Newmains Brass band also came along to belt out a few tunes. As a surprise for Tony, Suzy had arranged for the brass band to play a song from the Blues Brothers as they walked up the aisle after they had tied the knot.Afterwards, it was time to shoot on over to the Marriott hotel in the city centre for a quick bite to eat with their family and friends before welcoming their evening guests for a night of partying and dancing.The evening’s celebrations got underway with the speeches, always fun to hear a little insight into a couple’s journey. Then the Riffreshers pumped out tune after tune to ensure the dance floor was kept packed all night long. It was almost time for us to call it a night but not before one last photo-op. Suzy and Tony had bought some sparklers and they really do make for some fantastic photos and video.
