Laura and Martin at Barmbyfield Barns in York

I’m coming up for air from my editing screen to reflect on this fabulous day at Barmbyfield Barns with Laura and Martin back in May. How can I summarise this day? Beautiful, fun, laid-back and a party with a capital ‘P’! Just the way I like it!And I’m sure all the guests would agree that Laura’s dress by Hayley Paige was just WOWWWWWWWWW!!!Getting ready at Laura’s Mum Jenny’s house was the perfect mix of prosecco, glamour and baby cuddles! While the girls were beautified by the lovely Jade Heaney, Jenny made a brilliant assistant, helping me set up the bridal and flower girl detail shots. We used to work together in a former life, so it was great to catch up! I loved the surprise messages for each bridesmaids that Laura had arranged on their bouquets – a lovely moment. And the girls’ faces when they saw the incredible dress for the first time were a picture!Laura and the bridal party took a coach to the barn where Martin and guests were waiting with the usual mix of nerves and excitement for the ceremony in the beautiful, twinkly barn. This is a really stunning venue: the twinkly fairy lights make a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony and the surrounding fields and views are really spectacular. Being Yorkshire, they need to be, and are, well set-up for unfriendly weather! We saw some of that during the afternoon! Sunshine turned to dark clouds which made some dramatic group shots and then part way through Laura and Martin’s photo session, the heaven’s opened and we had to bolt inside! We squeezed in a couple more opportunities throughout the day to make up for it!As always, we had great fun with the group shots! Such a gorgeous bunch!When the shots started flowing early afternoon, I knew we were in for some fun with the guests and a good dance floor and the party did not disappoint! This crowd were seriously up for it and I’ve never had so much fun amongst the dancing before!I had SUCH a brilliant day photographing this wedding. Laura and Martin, I’m SO pleased you asked me to be your photographer, thank you. We had this booked in since 2017 and it came round in a flash. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness together and I hope to see you again for more pics sometime soon! Maybe baby number 2???!
