M&M Rabat Wedding

Rabat Wedding Photography – We had such a great time photographing and filming Mhend and Maria’s wedding in Rabat at Dar Nzaha. When Mhend first called us we knew theirs was a wedding we wanted to capture. We loved their vision for their day and after Skyping with both of them just felt a connection with them as a couple. While both Mhend and Maria are from Rabat, it wasn’t until they were living in Paris that they were connected through mutual friends. Mhend proposed to Maria during a trip to London and they held their civil ceremony in France. On the day of their wedding, Maria had her hair and makeup done at Salon Zen before arriving at the venue to finish getting. Many of her friends from France rented traditional Moroccan kaftans for the wedding and they finished getting ready in Maria’s room. It was really fun atmosphere as Maria’s friends got ready with her – there was lots of laughter, chatting, last minute lipstick touches, and of course admiring one another’s kaftans and outfits.Meanwhile Mhend and some family members made sure the wedding hall was ready and all of the finishing touches were in place. For their Moroccan wedding, friends and family traveled in from all to celebrate with them. The atmosphere at their wedding was so much fun from start to finish! They included many Moroccan traditions such as the Amaria and Doura and the presentation of gifts from the groom to the bride. I (Marisa) always wish we had included THAT Moroccan tradition in our wedding! :) Also, getting to wear more than one gorgeous gown on your wedding day – how amazing is that? The evening was filled with lots of dancing, laughter, and live music. It was one of those weddings where the dance floor was rarely empty and we learned that Mhend has some killer Michael Jackson dance moves! There was a live orchestra and also traditional Andalusian music performed by some of Maria’s father’s family members. Towards the end of the evening Mhend’s cousin Amine performed. This was a huge hit and we love that Mhend and Maria made their final entrance as he was singing. There is nothing like live music to get everyone on the dance floor and his choice of contemporary hits brought out a lot of dance moves (including the aforementioned dance moves of Mhend)!Throughout the evening guests were served hors d’oeuvres before a delicious traditional Moroccan meal.We love the little touches that Mhend and Maria created for their wedding, including Moroccan handcrafted tiles that each guest received as a wedding favor and one of the cutest cake toppers we’ve seen!Mhend and Maria are both incredibly sincere and warm and by the end of the evening we felt like we’d made new friends. We never get over feeling incredibly privileged to be entrusted with capturing a couples wedding day. It remains one of those weddings that we always comment to each other, “Wasn’t that a fun wedding to capture?”.We wish Mhend and Maria all of the best in their life together!
