Ilene and Roy

Ilene and Roy met on eHarmony. Roy sent her a message first, but she did not initially respond back. Almost two weeks later, she finally responded back. The two sent messages back-and-forth, and agreed to exchange numbers. After a couple of weeks talking on the phone, Ilene agreed to meet for dinner. The week before the first date, Ilene called and said that she was going to be in the area visiting her friend, and asked if Roy wanted to join her for coffee. Roy said OF COURSE!!! A few months after they had been dating, Roy found out that the coffee meet-up was actually a pre-date. Based-off the eHarmony profile pictures, there were some concerns that Roy was a sketchy character – all understandable because he did not smile in any of the photos. But come to find out, after the Starbucks meet-up Ilene did the happy dance. One day in 2019, Roy took Ilene and their pup out for a walk in Wellesley near Fuller Brook path and proposed to her during their walk. Something very unexpected and surprising to Ilene. Their wedding originally was to be in Italy of 2020, but COVID and the pandemic stopped all of that. Instead, the pair moved to a smaller wedding. I was in touch with the pair earlier in July for them to be married mid-August, but with the new travel advisory in Massachusetts to start August 1, they moved the wedding up a full two weeks and put it all together in one week. So with all the chaos that ensued, Ilene and Roy eloped at Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston, Massachusetts. First we did some pre ceremony portraits with their dog in Wellesley, right around the same area Roy proposed and a mural near some of the shops. Afterwards, it was up to Tower Hill for the ceremony. Roy’s brother married the two and Ilene’s day still walked here down the aisle, in this case the stairs to her waiting husband. It was a beautiful moment. The ceremony was 15 minutes and after we did some formal husband and wife portraits in the garden. Best thing is that Tower Hill is offering mini wedding ceremonies to take place on the premise after the garden has closed and provide you with at least 45 mins of the area to yourself to take photos with no interruptions of a crowd. After the ceremony and portraits, we want back to the couples home for a sit down dinner, where they brought Italy back to Massachusetts for a splendid meal, cake, and champagne pop. Though a hot day, it was a beautiful day!
