E&T at Pensativo House Hotel by Manuel Aldana

Taylor and Chelsea’s wedding in the heart of Antigua, Guatemala was the perfect blend of bold style, heartfelt intimacy, and laid-back magic. With just a handful of their favorite people, they leaned into everything that makes a destination wedding unforgettable—cobblestone streets, volcano views, and vibrant local touches—without losing sight of what mattered most: connection, joy, and meaning. What made their day truly stand out was how unapologetically them it was. Picture this: matching wide-brimmed hats, a palette inspired by tropical blooms, and an altar overflowing with lush, untamed florals that looked like they grew straight from the stones beneath their feet. Santiago from La Magnolia brought their “wild elegance” vision to life in the most thoughtful, stunning way.Unio Events planned everything with such ease and intention—it felt like she know them from day one. The day unfolded at the breathtaking Pensativo House Hotel, a colonial gem that blended history, elegance, and unreal volcano views. One of the most personal and talked-about moments? The YOLO tattoo station—a tribute to Chelsea’s late mom, whose motto was “You Only Live Once.” Friends lined up with cocktails in hand to get playful (and meaningful) temporary tattoos, and even the photographer joined in. It turned into a full-blown vibe, and the perfect symbol of the couple’s spirit: joyful, intentional, and totally original.Chelsea and Taylor hand-wrote a personal appreciation note for each guest, reflecting on their unique relationship and what their presence meant on such an important day. Their welcome table also featured locally sourced Guatemalan textiles and hand-poured candles to set the tone from the very beginning. One of their favorite moments from the day was their unconventional first dance. Instead of a traditional slow sway, they chose to kick things off with ODESZA’s version of “Something About You.” As the beat dropped, they waved everyone in to join them on the dance floor. It was the perfect way to capture what their relationship has always been about—love not just between the two of them, but also the deep support and joy from the people who’ve been part of their journey. The energy, the music, the shared connection—it was unforgettable.Other fun details that made the day their own:
👗 Bride’s dress – A one-of-a-kind creation brought to life by Brenda Johnson, a talented alterator near Chelsea’s hometown.
👟 Bride’s shoes – Classic Converse high tops, because comfort and style can totally coexist.
🤵 Groom’s suit – A perfect linen find from Men’s Wearhouse (no alterations needed! They got lucky).
👟 Groom’s shoes – Clean Nike Dunks for that effortless cool.
🎶 Project Vibez — brought the party to life and kept everyone dancing all night.Their advice to other couples? “Prioritize what actually matters to you. Don’t feel pressured to entertain 200 people if your dream is to escape somewhere meaningful with just your closest circle. Do it your way—it’s worth it.”Chelsea & Taylor’s wedding was a love letter to bold choices, intentional celebration, and the kind of joy that only comes from doing things your way. As their photographer, I can honestly say: it was one of the most genuine and joy-filled days I’ve ever documented.www.manuelaldana.com
