Colorado Horse Ranch Wedding

Kirsten and Mike are a beautiful anomaly. They’re charming and friendly, but could easily kick your ass. They don’t call attention to themselves, yet you can’t help but notice them. And they’re just as comfortable wielding a bow as they are riding a horse. Their Crooked Willow Farms Wedding was no different.Kirsten and Mike put so many personal touches into their wedding day. Ranging from the small (Mike’s ring was inlaid with a portion of the tusk from a boar he shot during their very first hunting trip together) to the much larger (Kirsten rode in on a horse and the look in her eye clearly said, “Mike, we’re getting one of these very soon.”), everything at the wedding had a reason behind it. Some even looked to the future while paying homage to the past (Kirsten’s bouquet included a brooch from her grandmother and was made with the intention of passing it down through generations, with each generation adding their own brooch). But in true Kirsten and Mike style, they made sure the event was just as memorable for their friends and family. Guests got to have a true Colorado foodie experience with whiskey- and wine-tasting stations, a sausage-tasting station, and hand-rolled cigars, all during cocktail hour. Not content with the usual fare of “chicken or beef,” their dinner included local venison and trout. As the dance party wound up, we tempted the newlyweds and the groomsmen out to a field with the aforementioned hand-rolled cigars for one bad-ass nighttime shot. Not that it took much convincing…
