Ski Resort Wedding at Beaver Creek

There’s something very respectable about a couple who plans their wedding not really having an idea of how everything’s going to look in the end. You put your best effort in, decide what’s most important to you, and then let the cards fall where they may, determined to enjoy yourself no matter what. That’s how Mo and Trey approached their Beaver Creek wedding. And it sure paid off!Mo and Trey (and an army of friends and family) coordinated their wedding all the way from Chicago. And not just the wedding. They also planned a Catholic ceremony for Thursday night, a welcome bash for Friday night and a farewell brunch for Sunday morning. But the star of the show was Saturday’s ceremony at the Beaver Creek wedding deck, a venue with views that are tough to beat. Mo confessed to me on the ride up that she was so excited to see the wedding deck. Every time they had visited, the deck was either covered in snow or inaccessible due to mud season. She literally had no idea what it would look like. Boy, was she in for a huge treat!The weather was perfect with just enough white fluffy clouds to give the vastness of the landscape some perspective. Guests loaded onto the gondola to ride the 2,000+ feet to the top of the lift before grabbing some personalized sunglasses and settling in for the ceremony. And finally, Mo and Trey got to exchange their vows overlooking the Gore Range in a ceremony officiated by Mo’s brother, as a family of deer grazed nearby.The rest of the night was just as amazing as the ceremony, capped off with a short hike up the mountain to capture the bride and groom gazing at the Milky Way. It was abundantly clear how hard the couple worked putting together this fantastic party and how much they’re loved by all their guests.
