  • First and foremost – whom can you name as the best photographer in Jackson, United States? :)

    Mangelsen wildlife photographer. His photos were the inspiration for our overland trip. A couple of years ago we came to Wyoming on vacation and I saw his magnificent photos. I left his gallery with a new perspective.

  • Are you photogenic?

    I think I’m very photogenic.

  • How did you get in the photography industry?

    When I was living in Cancun, Mexico Conor, my hubby worked with someone whose mom was a wedding organizer. He gave her card to Conor and I gave her a call.
    Months later she introduced me to Samuel Luna, a recognized wedding photographer. He invited me to 5 weddings at which I learned a lot. That was 10 years ago! In those ten years I built my own business.

  • What are the most important components of a good photo in your opinion?

    Moment, composition, and good light.

  • Do you love traveling?

    I love to travel and adventure!! On the weekends that we have available, we love to explore our surrounding area with our furry children!!

  • What do you like most about your profession?

    I love being an important part of the happiest day of your life. I honestly think that if I put passion into what I’m capturing and I’m able to make friends for a lifetime.
    Also, I get to go to fantastic places and I’m taking pictures of everything around me.

  • What do you like least about your profession?

    What I like the least about my profession is when there’s negotiation involved. I don’t haggle. But I do accept tips.

  • What will be the future of photography?

    I really don’t know what’s the future for photography. In general. In my career I’m always studying new ways to improve.

  • What is special in the photography genre you specialise at?

    Everything. I love every minute of it. Since meeting with you for the first time to the delivery of my work. I want to be an important part of your wedding. I enjoy capturing moments full of joy. I wait for the moment to happen a look, a smile, a touch of your hands. I like that constant search of details that shows the affection between the bride and groom and their loved ones.

  • How do you handle criticism?

    Constructive criticism is how you grow on your art.

  • Are there any trends in photography?

    Yes there are trends in photography.

  • What should be the criteria for a customer to choose a photographer?

    Good question. You should study and compare wedding photographers on their style. You should absolutely fall in love with the work of the photographer that you choose. You should trust the person behind the camera as well.

  • What things are to be avoided when shooting?

    Stressing out. Every wedding has its own flow. Go with it!

  • What details that usually pass unnoticed can a photographer notice?

    A wedding photographer should be able to see the magic that is happening at every moment of the day. A wedding is full of it and requires an artist to capture it.

  • What influences the value of a photo? What are its elements?

    To me the decisive moment. It has to be special. Every photo has to tell a story on itself.

  • What person can be the symbol of the 21st century in your opinion?

    I’m a big fan of Jesus Christ.

  • Who do you want to take photos of?

    What do you want to take photos of?
    Little birds and wildlife. It’s really wonderful to see God’s attention to detail when you are shooting birds.

  • Do you have any professional taboos?

    Negotiation.

  • Who would you like to shoot with?

    Juan Euan.

  • What do you worry about, and why?

    I’m learning to let go of things that I can’t control. Everything is in God’s hands.

  • What is the most impressive moment in your life?

    It's hard to pick just one. but one of my latest.
    We camped on a hill for several days in Los Padres National Forest, near Big Sur, California. Every sunset a formation of clouds was made out of nowhere. We were on top of them. We admire them for 15 minutes every day. They were coming towards a canyon that was right bellowed us. you could feel the wind kissing your skin. You could admire the hand of God creating that gorgeous sunset!

  • If you were a cartoon, book or movie character, who would you be and why?

    I love cartoons Conor, my hubby and I watch nothing but cartoons. I love Mabel from Gravity Falls. I think she is really sweet and she lives on her happy bubble. I think I’m like that.

  • Who inspires you in your life and why?

    My mom Tere and my dad Armando they show me how to work hard for what I want. My dad is my hero.

  • How do you define success? How do you measure it?

    By making dreams come true! By growing every time that you accomplish a dream!

  • Would you rather be liked or respected?

    You have to win the respect of others. Showing them with kindness your perspective in life. I will rather be respected.

  • What is the biggest mistake you have ever made at work?

    Once I lost half of the money from a wedding. : (

  • When you're going to travel, what do you take with you and why?

    My camera I have a personal photography project. It is called The Overland Diaries where I show our lifestyle and landscapes. Also, a stuffed animal.

  • Is there anything among your gadgets that you wish you haven't bought? Why?

    No. Everything I have I always do my research before buying it. So I take an educated decision.

  • How do you educate yourself to take better pictures?

    I love going to conventions. Meeting photographers. I’m always taking courses on line on different themes related to photography: Posing, composition, marketing, light, light, light. I’m a little bit obsess at this moment with flashes. Hahaha!

  • Whose work has influenced you most as a photographer?

    God’s attention to detail.

  • What is the one thing you wish you knew when you started taking photos?

    How to take photos!! Hehehe!!

  • What do you want to say with your photographs?

    I think everyone has at least a talent and it's our mission to discover what it is. Mine is taking photos of whatever I see.
    I want to reflect on my photos the mood of what’s going on and every photo has to tell a story.

  • What motivates you to continue taking pictures?

    I'm constantly searching to capture that one photo that is going to be my legacy to the world.

  • Should your parents have been more or less strict?

    Less strict!!

  • If you could go back in time, what would you do differently?

    Nothing, I don't regret anything! I think I have lived my life in abundance.

  • What about life on other planets?

    Why not!!!

  • Who are your heroes?

    My mom and dad!! I admire their will to give to the community. My dad was a Doctor and he showed me how to care for others.
    My mom is a retired teacher and she showed me how to work hard for what you want.

  • Who do you have no respect for?

    People who don't keep their word.

  • What do you do in your spare time?

    I love exploring and I’m always capturing everything that catches my eye.
    I love cooking and sharing a meal with good friends.
    I enjoy a good book and getting lost in my imagination.
    I put my heart and mind into everything that I do.
    I love my little family so much.

  • What's the side of you that the public never sees?

    I think I'm pretty transparent.

  • When are you completely satisfied with your work?

    Never. I am always trying to get better at what I do.

  • Do you believe in the traditional roles for men and women?

    Nope

  • Do you make friends easily?

    I think so!

  • Where would you like to live?

    That's an easy one ... Pinedale, Wyoming

  • What's the stupidest thing you've ever agreed to do?

    I can't think of one.

  • Is there life after marriage?

    I guess. I'm pretty happy with my marriage! We have been together for 12 years! We love and respect each other!

  • Do you have a favourite joke? Tell us.

    I'm terrible at telling jokes. I laugh all the time. I'm a pretty happy lady!

  • Do you like dogs or cats?

    Dogs!!! We have 4 rescue dogs from the streets of Mexico, Lila, Lola, Cuache, and Mosby
    When we did the journey we brought them with us!! They have been all over the United States and the Yucatan peninsula. I love being able to bring them with us everywhere we go!!

  • Who or what do you hate?

    When you are not punctual.

  • The best thing in life is:

    Nature!!!

  • The most annoying thing in life is:

    The way Lila barks. Hahaha!

  • Is there anything around you that you would like to change?

    Nope.

  • What would you like to change in yourself?

    Nothing! According to my hubby, I am gorgeous. Hahaha.

  • What would you like to change in the world?

    Selfishness!! I will love to live in a world where everyone supports everyone!!

  • Can you give a few tips for photographers who are just starting out?

    Don't give up!!! Life is not easy. And if I can take gorgeous photos with one hand you can do it too!! (I have Cerebral Palsy, can't move my right hand and leg very well )

  • If aliens come to the Earth and you are the first person they meet, what will you tell them?

    Welcome to this wonderful planet!!

  • If you are called to shoot a movie, what genre will it be?

    Adventure on film!
