Interview

  • First and foremost – whom can you name as the best photographer in Esbjerg, Denmark? :)

I don't know them all, but Jutland has a few good photographers to offer!

  • Are you photogenic?

    I try my best.

  • How did you get in the photography industry?

As a qualified Urban Planner, who worked in IT positions within varied industries for the past 15 years, photography has always been a way for me to express my artistic side. Love brought me to Denmark in 2011, and to Esbjerg in 2017, where I have focused my passion for photography on families. I adore not only my own children but all families. They encapsulate so many things I love – natural intimacy, pure love and sometimes chaos!

  • What are the most important components of a good photo in your opinion?

    Movement, engagement between subjects

  • Do you love traveling?

    Yes

  • What do you like most about your profession?

Seeing people in love and being able to capture that.

  • What will be the future of photography?

It will be more and more video-based, supplemented with classic wedding portraiture.

  • What is special in the photography genre you specialise at?

Time pressure is usually a bigger issue during a wedding.

  • How do you handle criticism?

I try to learn from it and incorporate it in future shoots.

  • Are there any trends in photography?

Grand landscape capture with couples being almost an accessory to the grand scene.

  • What should be the criteria for a customer to choose a photographer?

Would they like themselves in the same shot?

  • What things are to be avoided when shooting?

Constant apologising and blaming external conditions. Showing up late.

  • What is the most impressive moment in your life?

My own wedding and the births of my children.

  • What do you want to say with your photographs?

    Love is in the air.

  • Can you give a few tips for photographers who are just starting out?

Do it for free or full price. Take your time. Ask the couple to be patient.
